I cant seem to get to the developer site of late so I'll add some comments and suggestions here and hope thats ok.įirst - get the program - what I'm saying should not detract from the overall use/functionality - its a great program. I use this software a lot and it always works 100% of the time and my THANKS goes out to the people that make this software possible!!! I don't know of any good/great software that isn't updated on a regular basis to keep all people happy in use it. and the USERS computers having all kinds of buggy issues, then in turn, they GRIPE at the developers, which tries very hard to understand all the peoples issues and helps them out by staying up late nights and put TONS of hour into it, but you go ahead and bitch, moan, groan and gripe about it, they all deserve your hateful, spiteful temperament. sounds like you don't have a clue of what goes into developing software for other people to use and for them to download it, then try to install it on thousands of different computer hardware set ups & different version of Windows etc. I got an idea, how about reporting the bug and go on about your business. Don't bother to THANK them for all the time they do spend on developing the software and to GIVE IT AWAY. WOW, longwin, write one yourself and let people like yourself, cut down all your hard work, that should make YOU feel REAL GOOD, Right? Oh, wait, you don't know how, you can only gripe about what others are doing for free. Hope this helps answer some questions and shed light on the matter. The "" depository did briefly have 69.0.007 versions that were compiled with QT5 (V5.15.5), probably by mistake, which work perfectly with Windows 7/8, but were quickly replaced with same named files compiled with QT6 (V6.3.1). Obviously, he doesn't care about the amount of users this move may affect or cost him. That's his perrogative.Įssentially, if you are a new or long time user of the program and don't want, need or can't update your OS, you're SOL as per the author. The reason he is using QT6 is because he can and wants to, there is no real programing or compatibility reason. Download MKVToolNix 18.0.0 for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows right now.The author of MKVToolnix again switched to using QT6 with v69.0.0 which rendered the program unusable with Windows 7, 8 and respective server version. The mkvpropedit and mkvmerge's WebVTT and Matroska identification functionality also received some fixes. Last but not least, the AAC ADTS parser can now correctly interpret the channel_configuration header element for ADTS files that don't contain a program configuration element. For more details, you can check out the full changelog attached below. The GUI multiplexer component received a couple of improvements in this release, including the ability for both the "AAC is SBR/HE-AAC/AAC+" and "Reduce to Core" checkboxes in the "Audio Properties" section to be disabled when the functionality isn't implemented for the codec and container of selected tracks. AAC ADTS parser and GUI: multiplexer improvements "When building with Clang v3.8.0 or newer (MinGW 7.2.0 or newer), configure will no longer restrict optimization flags to -O1 and use -O3 again (older versions of clang suffered from excessive memory usage with higher optimization levels - older versions of mingw suffered from bugs such as segmentation faults with higher optimization levels)," reads the announcement. Moreover, there's now full support for both MinGW 7.2.0 and Clang 3.8.0 compilers. This release also reintroduces the workaround that was removed in MKVToolNix 15.0.0 due to code refactoring for non-compliant files containing tags that do not include the mandatory SimpleTag element. MKVToolNix 18.0.0 continues the monthly series of stability and reliability updates by adding performance improvements to both the AVC and HEVC ES parsers thanks to the implementation of support for copying much less memory, and enabling stack protection when building the program with Clang 3.5.0 or a new version. A new stable release of the MKVToolNix open-source and cross-platform MKV (Matroska) manipulation software arrived this past weekend with various performance improvements and bug fixes.
